Odescalchi Castle of Bracciano
The Orsini-Odescalchi Castle of Bracciano (Rome) it's a huge building dated on the 15th century; it has three big external walls that delimitate the building and it's surrounding areas. The castle has a pentagonal shape and for each corner there is a big tower.
The castle was builded by Braccio da Montone (a member of the Bracci family) who after the request of Pope Martino(1418) the 5th joined up the army of Braccio.
Actually the castle is owned by Odescalchi family, it's sometimes used for weddings and feasts, and it has also a museum that is opened for public visits. Inside the many rooms and buildings of the castle you can feel the history, watching ancient weapons, paintings, furniture. And from the top of the castle you can also enjoy a beautiful view of the Lake of Bracciano.
The price for the visit at the castle is € 8,50 for each person, and you can have a look at the updated timetable by clicking here. On Sunday there is a special visit of the castle that is dedicated to childrens; this special visit starts on 11:30, and the guide explain the story of the castle enriching with fables and riddles, dedicated to the childrens.
